The Screen Addict Recommends
Every once in a very long while, you stumble across a film so unique and uplifting, that for 90 minutes you actually forget about all the terrifying stuff thatโs going on in the world right now.
The feature-length doc ๐ง๐ต๐ฒ ๐ง๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ฏ๐น๐ฒ ๐๐ถ๐๐ต ๐ ๐ฟ ๐๐ผ๐ผ๐ฑ๐น๐ฒ follows Sam Cox, an incredibly gifted young artist who from a very young age feels an uncontrollable urge to draw โdoodlesโ everywhere he can.
And when I say everywhere, I do mean ๐ฆ๐ท๐ฆ๐ณ๐บ๐ธ๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ฆ.
This would be quite annoying and disturbing if it were anyone else, but the fact of the matter is that Coxโ doodles are quite brilliant.
His work evokes comparison with that of Keith Haring and Roy Lichtenstein, but I dare say that Coxโ sprawling pieces are even more daring and eclectic.
The doc doesnโt shy away from the mental health struggles that often go hand in hand with genius, and I couldnโt help thinking what an absolutely perfect non-fiction/fiction double feature this film would make with ๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐๐ถ๐ณ๐๐น ๐ ๐ถ๐ป๐ฑ (๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ญ).
In any event.
Seek it out & get your fix.
