RE: Brains That Fire a Little Bit Differently

in WORLD OF XPILARyesterday

I am familiar with the term neurodiversity, but only from recent years. My middle son, who is on the autism spectrum, was born in the mid-90s, and back then, this kind of consideration didn't exist yet. I have always criticized the schematic assessment and standardization of child development, and so yes, we have come a step further. Nevertheless, it would not have made things any easier for him in the education system. There is still a lot to be done.

There's definitely a lot to be done! I am just glad we increasingly consider the fact that "one size fits all" is NOT a good way to create effective human beings.

When I was a kid (1960's/1970's) most of this stuff was simply written off as someone being an "unruly child" and that was that.
