Nature

The bedrock in Hurdal consists of the Oslo field's syenites, which form hilly, forested hills with relatively large differences in elevation. Hurdal's two highest points are Fjellsjøkampen in the north and Lushaugen on the border with Gran municipality in Innlandet in the west. Both of these hills rise 812 meters above sea level. Elsewhere in the municipality, the hills reach 650 to 800 meters above sea level. At the mouth of the Gjødingelva is a small area of ​​Cambro-Silurian shales. The Hurdalselva, which flows into the northern end of Hurdalssjøen, is the other important inflow to Hurdalssjøen.
