A leisurely stroll in Nanto, Italy
Hi friends, I hope you're well. I've been away for a while because I've been very busy with work, but mostly because I'm moving, so I haven't been able to travel, or even share and write posts here in the community. Now that the hardest part of it all seems to be over, I want to get back to sharing my adventures here in the community.
In fact, just a few days ago I went to visit a cousin of mine named Nanto, who lives in a town in the province of Vicenza—so we're in Italy—because she told me she knows some little-known trails, and this would be a great opportunity to explore them and, more importantly, get some healthy exercise, which I've been doing very little lately.
Certainly, the first thing that struck me about this small provincial town was its bell tower, truly unique as you can see from the photo. Honestly, I haven't looked into why it was built that way, but I'm always left speechless by these beautiful buildings.
Then we crossed some practically uncultivated fields, and we went towards the path we had to take, not very marked and very hidden. But she knew it well because she told me she walks there every day.
Let's just say the most pleasant thing was that this trail wound through a small forest, so even though it was quite hot, it was very, very comfortable.
I noticed some truly beautiful purple flowers along the way, which I'd never seen before, but above all, I stopped every now and then to eat some wild blackberries that grow in this area. It had been a while since I'd done something like this, and I have to say, they were truly delicious.
We continued our route; it wasn't very challenging, but some of the uphill sections were taking their toll on our legs, especially since I haven't been training much lately. However, once we reached the top, we were able to admire the beautiful view from there.
Unfortunately, at a certain point it started to rain a little, which is not a bad thing, especially when it's hot, but it's always a bit annoying. So, we set off again to descend this hill where this path reached, and along the way we ended up in a vineyard where the grapes were already ripe, so we couldn't resist eating a few, especially since he really likes table grapes because the grapes are really big.
In the end, it was a nice walk of about an hour, and we cooled off a bit at this fountain, where someone actually decided to raise some trout, probably to sell or eat.
I have to say that this last break was very refreshing because the water was really cold. I hope this story about this walk was interesting. See you on my next adventure.
