Here in my country Nigeria, fruit street business is one of the most lucrative jobs to start. Street business can be started with a low capital with full assurance of increasing stock if it's set on a good location. The most promising aspect about the street business is that even 4 vendors set up on the same lane they will still make profits as far as there's sales on that particular road.

It's also noticeable that this street business thrives more in an estate area because most people there purchase without bargaining much unlike open markets. I visited my friend's mom spot and she has been selling fruits for about 9 years now, I must say she's really gaining alot from the business because It's what she uses to cater for her family. I asked her few questions about how she managed to sustain that low, she said; The business is actually lucrative though but losses do occur at times most especially when buyers don't come in to purchase them fresh.

Fruits are perishable goods and gets higher value when it's still fresh. In most cases when the goods gets bad that inturn be a great loss in the business. The struggle too while getting them directly from the market, she said; you have to go to market as early as 5am in the market to secure up your own fruits or you won't see any to bad. People bad directly and resale it at higher prices so it's necessary to move in so early to secure the portion you need, she concluded by saying you need strength to fight up to get yours not just with the money but lot's of struggle to get the fresh ones for your customers.

Here in my area it's known that the fruits is the highest demanded goods mostly bananas, orange and watermelon. Those two most beautiful included if you're starting up because it's mostly needed by consumers mainly because of the taste, nutritional value and price.Banana and orange are not that costly like apples and grapes so people really prefer to get them.

In most cases people don't like opened fruits like watermelon and paw paw so they go for the ones they peel by themselves before eating. Personally that's the reason I don't consume street paw paw, to me I feel they seller didn't wash it to my satisfaction.

I really go for fruits I can consume there without inviting flies around . Fruit like mangoes is really meant to be consumed at home because of flies issues. Fruits like apples and bananas do not attract flies so there are the most demanded fruits in my locality.

I consume fruits daily because of how my health is now. I really want to boost my immune system because I stress alot daily so daily intake of fruits can be of help too. I have several customers here in my street but I choose to purchase mainly at my friend's mom spot.
She sells varieties of fruits including fresh cucumber, banana, pear, pineapple, watermelon and paw paw. She knows my combo being banana with groundnuts that alone keeps me fit for any sporting activities.

There are so many methods fruits sellers use here. I know about chop one chop all indirectly telling the customers that the fruits are actually fresh and you won't stop purchasing all If you get one. Another method is giving out extra to the customers, I really appreciate when sellers add a little to the actual amount of goods purchased. That alone gives me a boost to come again.
Another method used here is making available fresh goods mostly by sprinkling water on the body of the goods. Fruits like guavas, apple and cucumbers are very attractive when water are on their body.

Fruit sellers should know that fruits are perishable and it shouldn't be kept for long. Some fruit vendors prefer keeping their products for long than selling it out at an agreed amount.

Fruit business is very essential in our daily life. In most churches fruits are important commodities used for feast and breaking of fasts.
