This afternoon was a joyous one for my little daughter and me. Since midday, she'd been showing signs of excitement knowing we were going to the odong-odong (traditional electric scooter) ride near Simpang Rangkaya, her favorite spot. This simple ride always manages to make her laugh and enjoy playing. At just Rp 5,000 per ride, the excitement she gets is far more than the price tag.

Upon arrival, the atmosphere was quite lively. The colorful lights on the odong-odong (traditional musical instrument) began to flash, children's music played cheerfully, and rows of toy seats shaped like miniature cars were waiting to be filled with children's laughter. My little daughter quickly chose her favorite seat, sitting quietly, her eyes sparkling with excitement. When the odong-odong began to move, her smile widened. Occasionally, she waved at me, who was standing nearby, ensuring that this moment would be forever imprinted in my heart.

Of course, this afternoon's game wouldn't be complete without his favorite snacks. I bought him warm fried sausages, savory fried tempeh, and a refreshing drink to quench his thirst amidst the excitement. While enjoying the snacks, he kept his eyes on the odong-odong, as if eager to get back on for another round.

Next to the odong-odong ride was a large inflatable house, also bustling with other children. However, this time, my daughter spent her entire time on the odong-odong ride. It seemed this ride truly held a special place in her heart. She rode lap after lap, laughing, until the sun finally began to set.

Watching my little daughter play contentedly filled me with the same joy. Nothing brings a parent greater joy than seeing their child laughing and enjoying their childhood. It was a simple afternoon, yet so colorful. We returned home with warm hearts, bringing home laughter, beautiful memories, and immense gratitude.

Today proved once again that a child's happiness often lies in simple things, like a ride on a merry-go-round, warm snacks, and time devoted to them.
