The Diary Game || Preparations to celebrate my little daughter's 2nd birthday
As the special day approaches, the atmosphere at home feels different. This time, all attention is focused on preparations to celebrate my little daughter's two-year-old birthday. Although the concept is simple, this moment holds profound meaning for our family. From morning to evening, the house is filled with joyful activity.
My wife and mother were the driving force behind all the preparations. Several colorful balloons hung in the living room. I didn't use many decorations, but the balloons and a few decorations at the back of the room were enough to create a festive atmosphere. On the striped wall next to the main table, there were simple decorations, the creativity of the people in the room. While not extravagant, they still exuded a warm and loving atmosphere.
Besides decorating, preparing the parcels for the invited guests was also a major focus. My mother meticulously arranged the contents of the parcels to be distributed, ensuring each package was neat and presentable. Meanwhile, my wife prepared the various dishes to be served on the day of the celebration. Simple dishes like fried noodles, spring rolls, jelly, and refreshing drinks were carefully planned.
In the kitchen, the savory aroma of fried noodles mingled with the aroma of freshly fried spring rolls, creating an even more appetizing atmosphere. The colorful, cooled jelly looked beautifully arranged on a serving platter. While all of these dishes may seem simple, for us, the most important thing is the togetherness and warmth created when family and friends gather.
My own son, who didn't yet fully understand what his birthday was all about, seemed delighted to see the house a little different from usual. He'd occasionally come over to us, smiling as he pointed to the hanging balloons. His little laughs seemed to remind him that all these preparations were made solely for his own happiness.
By evening, most of the preparations were complete. The decorations were up, the parcels were ready to be distributed, and the food was just waiting to be served. Although the event seemed simple, our hearts were filled with gratitude. Tomorrow, when family and friends arrive, we will celebrate this moment with joy, remembering that every birthday is a sign of growing older and a growing love that binds us as a family.
