Vicenza, a city you can't miss if you visit Italy
Hello fellow travelers!
Today I would like to talk to you about a city that in my opinion is worth visiting if you come on a trip to Italy, probably less touristy than other cities like Venice - Rome but in my opinion it is very beautiful to visit because it is very rich in monuments.
In fact, a few days ago, I had an appointment in Vicenza, a splendid city of about 110,000 inhabitants located in the Veneto region, and so during the break I took a beautiful walk taking some photos and observing the beauties of this splendid city.
It had been a while since I was in these parts, but it is always nice to take these walks because it always discovers new things, and let's say that Vicenza in particular is linked to Andrea Palladio, this famous Renaissance architect who transformed this city, in fact in these photos you can see some of his works such as the Teatro Olimpico, the Basilica Palladiana and the Palazzo Chiericati.
Think that many of these works, by this important architect, have also influenced architecture throughout the world from Russia to the United States of America.
Since 1994 the city of Vicenza has been included in the UNESCO world heritage list and since 96 the 24 Palladian Billie that are located in the Veneto region have also been included. I have probably talked about some of these here but you can also find them on my YouTube channel.
In my opinion Vicenza is a tidy and clean city and there is a very intense cultural life and another thing that many do not know is that it has a strong religious tradition and this can be seen from the many buildings linked to religion not only churches.
Then, as has been my philosophy for some time and I always try to share less touristy places, which can be visited calmly and where there are no crowds like Venice or Rome, I know that you can't make a comparison with these cities but even here you can see unique things in the world.
I feel very lucky sometimes to be able to touch these things with my own hands, these Monuments that have survived to the present day and have seen time pass in front of them.
I hope my post was interesting. See you next time and I wish you all a good day.
