History of Ahsan Manzil

1000015238.jpg

It is located banks of Buriganga river in Islampur of old Dhaka. It was the palace of the Nawabs of Dhaka. Now it is using as a museum. Nawab Abdul Ghani was the founder of this. He was a son named Khaja Ahsanullah. By this name its called Ahsan Manzil. Its constructed between 1859-1872 year. A famous party named the Muslim League was decided to establish from here. Now it is a museum. Once Sheikh Inayetullah Ahsan, a zamindar of Jalalpur Pargana, built a palace called Rangmahal at the present site of Manzil. After his son sold the palace to a French merchant. In 1835 Khwaja Alimullah who lived in Begombazar bought it and started living there. Nawab Abdul Ghani rebuilt the palace in 1872. After completing the new building, he named it Ahsan Manzil by his son's name Khwaja Ahsanullah.

There have many historical things inside the building
