A Delicious Mash Daal.
Today I resolved to create a strong, delicious mash daal with black gram but I wanted to experiment with another approach than frying the First I made the tempering; then I added the soaked dal straight into this fragrant base.
Components:
• 1 cup black gram, also known as urad dal
• two tablespoons ghee
• one big cut onion
• two chopped tomatoes
• cut 2 green peppers.
• Salt to taste.
• Red chili powder to taste.
• 1 teaspoon garam masala
• One spoonful of masala powder optional
• 2-3 cups liquid
• Fresh cilantro leaves as garnish
• Optional lemon wedges
Step By Step.
Soaking Daal.
First I soaked the black gram for around 1 to 2 hours to soften it up, then rinsed it very well under cold water. helps it cook faster and get nice and tenderPreparing Tempering.
I heated some ghee in a sizable pan over medium heat while the dal was steeping; ghee offers a great perfume and richness I added Sliced onions and cooked them until they were a lovely golden brown and smelled wonderful; this took 8 to 10 minutes.
Cutting Vegetables.
Next I added chopped tomatoes and green chilies, cooking them until the tomatoes became mushy and began giving off their juices, the oil began to separate from I spiced the mixture,
which is a sign it's delicious, with a little salt, red chili powder, and my favorite masala powder then mixed everything well. ensuring the spices covered both the tomatoes and the onions equally.

Adding Daal To Tempering.
Then I drained the soaked dal and added it right into the pan with the spice mix, stirring it around to allow the flavors to Depending on how thick or thin you want it, I poured in about 3 cups of water; I brought it. Get into the dal. raised to a boil then reduced the heat, covered the pan, and simmered softly for around 8 to 10 minutes.Cooking More Or Perfect.
The dal melted and absorbed all of the spices and tastes over this time; it became delicious and creamy, and the dish started smelling delicious. Fantastic; should it thicken too much, you may add a little more water and keep cooking; if you want it thicker, just cook it longer, stirring frequently.
Serving Time.
The delicious and yummy Mash Daal is ready to serve.
Hope you like it and try it at home.
