Lessons Beyond Classroom: NEVER GIVE UP

in Steem Venezuela2 days ago (edited)

The journey of a thousand miles begin with a step. Never give up really happened when I took that very bold step to continue school, to counter bad words used by my teachers and to attend classes without my tuition fee being paid. Let's go back to what happened before that very step. The sentence never give up means alot to many, to me never give up is not how consistent you're but when you don't stop a journey you started.

The Never give up journey

During my primary school level my parent weren't financially stable, it was actually hard for them to pay our fees including that of my siblings. I didn't stop going to school even when I know I will be sent home. Some days I will move very early to stay in the toilet so the cashier won't drive me home.My aim most days was just to get notes from my classmates and keep mine updated.
I can remember when my school teacher ridiculed my mom saying " I thought your child was an orphan" that alone gave me a boost. I told myself, I will be great and nothing will hinder me. I was still coming around school with or without paying my fees till my WAEC Examination, I had admission into the university in the year 2021 through God's intervention.

As a young productive and creative student, I copy notes for lazy students for a pay back then it was 10 Naira a page. The pay was actually something tho helped to pay petty bills and provide snacks during break. I also pick star apple in a nearby compound for sale in school. I have always wanted to earn money right from that level indulging myself in activities that will earn me cash.

Another phase of never give up

I got admission to study banking and finance in the university of uyo, AkwaIbom state. The admission was a great goal completion but a start up for suffering and hard work. It was abit simple and cool in my first semester because inflation wasn't that high in the country, hardship embraced me when the level of inflation increased. Transport and school requirements sky rocketed making it unbearable for students at large.
Some of my colleagues in school couldn't continue because of the expenses incurred . School dropouts increased daily while some postponed the session. God helped and made ways for me through my parent to continue, the indefinite strike kept us at home for 8 months. I wasn't just at home but I was working for a pay to dive into photography.
I started mobile photography before the called up the strike, the gains gotten from the mobile photography helped me alot in school.

School gave me wonderful souls who helped me out in so many ways. The phase wasn't easy because there are days I will stay back because of insufficient transportation fare and bookings. I was now pursuing two dreams being completion of school and pursuing my photography dream.
My friends helped in taking attendance, dropping vital information, supporting me with transport fare and doing lots more.

It's stated "winners are not those who never fail, but those who never quit" I continued till my final level. I stopped getting any financial support from my parent from my year 3 because of how things are with them. My focus was now supporting them and finishing up with school.

God made ways for me, I sorted everything out pertaining to school expenses and I was still healthy. It's really important to stay healthy, the school can drain for real. My parent were so super happy to see me ride through school without asking for financial support. A big thank you to steemit platform and my photography skills.

I defended my seminar in a grand style celebrating with a classy pictures. I went into the hall so sweet and charming 😁
Yeah, it's me the trench kid. My friends were happy to see me there presenting after passing through chaos and storms.

Fast forward to my signout day, I was one of the most love graduate in that very field. People came out for me mostly my clients, students, friends , loved ones and fans on Facebook. I felt much love and support from them, I was also gifted by my steemians friends too.
The life and year I prayed for is right before me now, I was super happy and grateful. Much appreciation goes to God almighty for turning things around.

I kept a special place for my mom to sign eventhough she couldn't come due to her work schedule. That very night she wrote on my shirt saying super proud of you my boy. It was actually one of my greatest dreams not just one but a fulfilled one.

I gave out the shirt to my parent thanking them for their sacrifices and supports right from day 1. Mom took few pictures with me wearing the signed shirt.

The picture carries alot of messages not to give up easily. It's sounding so easy but it was rough and tough for me. God is always available to change our story to a greater one.
The teacher that ridiculed my mom some years ago is now looking old with no job, it's a message to everyone that life is unpredictable.

We should all try to believe in God and keep moving no matter the circumstances. Keep moving, never give up.
