The Diary Game [05/06/2025] Change is a Constant Factor
Steem greetings guys from the motherland-Cameroon and welcome to my blog for another session of my diary game. Some days are just so cold and since we are adapting to a new environment, cold weather is just a perfect way to give a blend and not all the time one should be under the air conditioner.
It was cold weather around my neighbourhood and it was raining early morning but I got to go to a nearby market to buy some plantains. My husband decided to drop me off at the market and we left while the kids were still sleeping.

We arrived at the local market at about 6:30 AM but the market was scanty. Few sellers were available with plantains and the prices were too expensive. I was confused about what to do and my husband said this was not the plantain season. I had to buy a smaller quantity of plantains just to console myself and my husband for wasting fuel to the market. We were told that plantains are affordable on Mondays because many farmers will be available in the market.

We returned home disappointed but hope was not lost yet as I still have to try another option to get the plantains. I removed some of the plantains to fry plantain chips. I peeled the plantains, heated oil and sliced the plantains into the hot oil. I fried it in less than no time and it was delicious as we ate it as snacks.

I was enjoying my snacks while working on my laptop. I had a project to work on gender and peacebuilding with an international organisation. I had a meeting online with them for over 2 hours as a gender expert. After the discussions, I had to prepare dinner. I prepared smashed potatoes with beans, which is my kids' favourite. We enjoyed the meal as a family while preparing to watch the UEFA Nations League between France and Spain.

Then came the match time and my husband was supporting France while I was supporting Spain. It was indeed a messy day for France as Spain triumphed over them with a 5:4 win. They qualified to play Portugal at the finals while France faces Germany for the third place.

I concluded my day by having a family WhatsApp video call. Everyone was connected and the excitement to see everyone smiling was fulfilling. My dad was also connected and we discussed for more than an hour while waving bye to one another. I had to call it a day after the call and went to bed. Until my next diary guys, it is goodnight from my end to yours 🥰🥰.
