The Diary Game [19/07/2025] // Shopping at the Local Market.

Steem greetings guys from the motherland-Cameroon and it’s a cold day with rain throughout the day but I was happy because I dislike hot weather. Saturday is my free day from work and I often use it to clean and also do some shopping of our food items of the house. This way throughout the week, we have not to border about what to cook.

The local market is not far from my home, but at times I prefer to take a bike to the market or when my husband is around he drove to the market. Because my husband was not around, I had to trek to the market because the weather was cold and favorable to walk.

When I arrived the market, I went to a local butchery to buy beef. I usually buy like 5kg to be refrigerated for further use. I met one of the funniest butcher I have ever and he made me laughed throughout. I love it because he literally made my day a happy one at the market. There is no dull moment with this guy and I’m sure the reason why he always finish selling before his colleagues.

I left the butchery to the food section of the market where I bought a lot such as smoked fish, egussi, vegetables, potatoes, yam, eggs, baby diapers, Ogbono, etc. The things were much that I had to carry to the roadside and took a bike that dropped me off at my home. This is one of the reasons I like to take a bike, it is more convenient than taking a cab.

When I arrived home, I arranged everything and had to cook ogbono soup to be eaten with garri. My kids love ogbono soup but dislike okra. Surprisingly all are slippery but they choose ogbono over okra. After cooking and feeding the kids, it was time for me to get some rest.

It is rare for me to rest during the day but I was happy I rested for about 2 hours. It was still raining heavily and the weather was cold, I heated water and took a warm bath. I felt refreshed and regained energy to relax in the evening hour.

I went to my neighbor’s house to buy pap for our breakfast the next day. I came when she had boiled fresh groundnuts and asked me to seat let’s eat it. I was free and doing nothing at that time and I took the advantage to gist with her while we watch a movie.

I returned to my house and heated food to feed the kids and also watch a movie on Netflix. I was surprised that I felt sleepy on the couch and realized myself at about 1:00 AM. I switched off the TV and went to bed as I called it a day. Until my next diary guys, I wish you all a splendid weekend.
