My Shojo Anime Cartoon character selection for this week is Sailor Moon. She is the lead character in a cartoon series called Sailor Moon. A 14-year-old superhero who fights evil forces. She is known for being clumsy but cheerful and lovable.

She is a friend of Sailor Mars and Sailor Jupiter. She has short golden hair, with big expressive eyes and is dressed in a distinctive collared Sailor fuku suit.

Sailor Moon, also known as Usagi Tsukino, is the creation of a renowned Japanese manga artist Naoko Takeuchi.

What is needed for the drawing

To sketch Sailor Moon, I needed the following materials.

Drawing Procedure

Step 1 [Preparing the Canvas]

I got my A4 paper ready. Plain and white, without any beamish. At one edge of the paper, I put my username and a date. 3rd July 2025.

Step 2 [Guidelines and structure]

To guide me through the drawing process, I have the silhouette of a head, shoulders and the upper body of Sailor Moon.

Step 3 [Adding hair]

Then I have to draw Sailor Moon's hair on the guidelines, as if putting on a wig on a mannequin.

After drawing hands, ears, and clothing elements, the lines became crowded.

Step 4 [Erasing Guideline Segments]

I erased some of the guidelines around the hands and upper body..

Step 5 [Adding more details]

Adding eyes and clothing details

Step 6 [Shading, detailing and colouring]

Sailor Moon's hair is having a gold colour.

Colouring the red clothing items on Sailor Moon.

Adding blue colour to her clothes.

Step 7 [Finishing]

Now the colouring is completed,

It's time to take a selfie
