A Lazy Morning That Turned into a Day of Fun and Lessons

Hello SteemCameroon Fam!

How’s everyone doing today? Hope you’re having a productive and positive day wherever you are! 😊

1000994549.jpg Weekend hostel chores — washing my clothes from the week. Hostel life no be beans! 😂

Today was a late start for me — I woke up past 9 am. No surprise though, because I didn’t sleep the previous night. With exams starting next week, I’ve been deep in “jacking” mode (Nigerian slang for late-night studying). I stayed up till past 3 am, so waking up early wasn’t happening.

After waking up, I stretched a bit, even did some pull-ups on the door frame just to wake up my body. I brushed my teeth, fetched water, and washed my clothes. No classes today, so I wasn’t in any rush.

1000994550.jpg Breakfast; pap with milk, sugar, and biscuit. Not bad, right? 😋

For breakfast, I had pap with milk, sugar, and biscuit. By the way, I have a post on my profile on how to prepare this pap — it’s not the regular soft akamu but a special dry mix made from guinea corn, millet, and groundnut.

After breakfast, I relaxed, took my bath, got dressed, and headed to school. My first stop was the café, where I printed and submitted my course registration form for signing ahead of Monday’s exam.

On my way back, I decided to attend an event happening at my faculty (Faculty of Social Sciences) — the Nigerian Edutainment Festival. It started at 9 am, but I strolled in past 12 pm thinking I wouldn’t miss much. Big mistake — the place was packed and full of energy!

1000994069.jpg The atmosphere at the event was on fire! Music, dancing, and so much energy.

The festival was a mix of entertainment and education. There were music and dance performances, but also serious discussions on topics like overcoming procrastination, facing fear, avoiding crime, and road safety. We also had awards, giveaways, and notable guests from the EFCC (Economic and Financial Crimes Commission), FRSC (Federal Road Safety Corps), and even traditional rulers.

They shared some great tips too. For procrastination, the advice was simple: start small, build momentum. For overcoming fear, they emphasized focusing on progress instead of perfection. On avoiding crime, they reminded us that integrity will take you further than shortcuts ever will. Road safety tips like wearing seat belts, avoiding calls while driving, and not drinking and driving were also strongly emphasized.

The festival continues tomorrow with even more fun — helicopter rides, mountain climbing, and sports activities are all lined up. I’ll try to get there earlier.

When I got back, I was starving. Luckily, my roommate had cooked rice and stew, which I demolished. 😅 After eating, we played a few football matches on the console. I lost some rounds but made sure I won more — trust me!

Right now, I’m relaxing, hoping NEPA will bring light so I can study in peace (mosquitoes are no joke at night). Today was a good day — a mix of rest, learning, and fun.

How was your day? I’ll keep you updated on how tomorrow’s events go, be sure to stay with me!

Suggest in the comment section the methods you use to deal with fear and procrastination.

The post about how to prepare the pap is it in your Steemit blog?

Are you a student of Uniuyo? We also had a departmental event yesterday though I wasn't in attendance because I had my day all planned out already and there was no time to fix in another schedule.

Your dairy is detailed and I love it, keep steeming.

Yeah, I just shared the post about how to prepare pap to my blog.

And nope, I'm a student of uniabuja, I'm from Akwa Ibom tho and I know uniuyo very well.
