Top Moments from May 5–11

🏀 May 6, 1998 – MJ’s Fifth MVP

Michael Jordan claimed his 5th MVP Award during his final season with the Chicago Bulls. He averaged 28.7 points and led his team to a 62–20 record. Months later, he'd hit the Last Shot in Game 6 vs. Utah.

May 9, 2012 – Aguero’s Legendary Goal

“Aguerooooooo!!!” – Martin Tyler's voice still echoes in Premier League lore. Manchester City sealed their first EPL title in 44 years with a 94th-minute winner by Sergio Aguero, ripping it away from United.

May 10, 1970 – Hank Aaron Hits 3 HRs

At 36 years old, Hank Aaron smashed three home runs in one game, inching closer to his eventual record of 755 career homers. That performance reminded everyone: he still had thunder in his bat.

🕵️‍♂️ Where Is He Now?
Aaron passed away in 2021, but his legacy as one of baseball’s true icons lives on. MLB honors him with the annual Hank Aaron Award for best offensive player.

🏈 May 7, 2006 – Reggie Bush Drafted #2

After an unbelievable career at USC, Reggie Bush was selected 2nd overall by the New Orleans Saints. Though his pro career was up and down, he remains one of college football’s greatest offensive weapons.

May 7, 1995 – Reggie Miller Scores 8 Points in 9 Seconds

In a stunning finish against the Knicks, Reggie Miller hit two threes and stole an inbounds pass to pull off one of the most shocking playoff comebacks of all time.

🎾 May 8, 1984 – Navratilova’s 54th Win in a Row

Martina Navratilova won her 54th straight match, dominating the tennis world. She’d eventually reach a 74-match win streak, a record still unmatched in women’s tennis.

💎 Hidden Gem Moment

🥊 May 1981 – Larry Holmes vs. Trevor Berbick

Holmes defended his heavyweight title in a gritty 15-round decision over Berbick. While not his most famous fight, it demonstrated his endurance and solidified his place among the greats.

I love this - nostalgia's definitely for me!

“Aguerooooooo!!!”

This still sends tingles down my spine. I remember where I was when I witnessed this - drama that will never be seen again.

So this one gets my vote (it's also the only one that I remember!)

It's the best moment by far. I really wish I had been more into football/soccer back then. I'm a lifelong Braves fan, but I wasn't born when Hank Aaron did that. The Jordan moment is not that big. Tennis fanatics might say Navratilova's moment was pretty big, but eh... it doesn't compare to that goal.

Navratilova's was probably the greatest achievement, in that it took months to achieve (although you could argue that all of these moments took a lifetime to get to where they did), but as far as moments go, that Aguero goal was the pinnacle of Premier League entertainment. What makes it doubly remarkable, was that Man City were losing 2-1 just 2 minutes before that and they needed to win to win the league. An absolutely ridiculous end to the season.

Thank you @aneukpineung78 and Team 5!

Actually we are team 6 for May 2025 by Steemit, Inc.'s term. The number 5 as shown in the image is the version of the team True Colours. The number increase each time the team is chosen for curatorial works.

Thank you for creating on Steem.

Well then, thank you, Team 6! You guys rock!

Actually, I prefer harder one, like trash metal. But I listen to rock, too. :D
