RE: Sports Comments Contest I - Your favorite sporting moment

in The World of Sportsyesterday
Back in 2013, when I was in College and preparing for my HSC Exam, the Bangladesh team toured Sri Lanka for a Test series. My favourite cricketer, Mohammad Ashraful, was selected for that series. He always played well against Sri Lanka. He played an entire day and was not out at 190s. We were all waiting for the first Bangladesh batsman to score a double-hundred in Test cricket. The youngest Test Centurion was all set. He needed just 10 runs. I had a class in the morning. I was in the class. We were all discussing whether Ashraful had already done that. Our teacher said, Let's check. After he checked, he looked at me straight, as I was known for being a die-hard Ashraful fan. We were all waiting to know. He said, "Ah, Akib. He failed." Everyone looked at me as if it were my fault. However, we were all saddened that Ashraful was out at 193. In that innings, Mushfiqur Rahim became the first Bangladeshi double-centurion.

Yeah, I remember this match. We scored 500+ runs, but still, you guys managed to score 600+ runs and save the series. I also love Ashraful at the time, what really happened to him?

Thanks for the particpation!

A sad end to a Legend. A was accused of match fixing. But, we know that it was a political move. Don't want to talk about that.
