Indeed. That's the story. I read it in the newspaper here. But there it didn't mention poisoned cassava... There is one village in India (if I remember it correctly) where this happens to kids every year around harvest season. They go through the fields and munch on the raw cassavas... I don't understand why parents don't take better care... We eat cassava on a regular basis since it is so cheap and abundant on the market. Didn't know you could eat the leaves too when cooked.
