Glad to share something new with you. It is really beautiful. I love the little flowers. I bet your soup is amazing. This would probably be good in a soup as well. I'll have to give that a try...
After noting an abundance of purslane growing in our garden we decided to grow some miner's lettuce since they are related. Another name for miner's lettuce is winter purslane. It did fairly well. It likes cooler, shadier locations.

Nice write up. We are losing a lot of natural knowledge. What berries to eat, what greens to eat, what tree barks make a healing tee, what branches make good bows, what one make good arrow, what grasses to use for string, all the "Fox Fire" stuff we learned as a kid, from parents and grandparents. People are lucky that there are still some who want to pass the information on.

It is a shame how much knowledge is being forgotten. Sometimes a bit more nature and a lot less technology is a good thing. I need to plan a camping trip lol...

Wow! I see this plant for the first time in my life! It is very beautiful. We grow wild sorrel and sometimes we cook soup from it.

That purslane grows like crazy around here too. It's pretty tasty too, but I prefer the miners lettuce.
It's always nice to see new plats and learn about their life and nutritional value. This plant is new to me.
I don't too many people know about this one even in California where it grows wild everywhere. Glad you enjoyed reading about this one.
Always.
