‘To have a better life’ is a kind of blessing we say for dead pets and animals
which means we want them to be reincarnated as human beings so that they’ll have the opportunity of becoming enlightened. Animals cannot practice Dhamma, so human beings have big advantage!
Sometimes I wonder if the animals aren't better off than we are. Their lives are so uncomplicated compared with ours. We make things so messy.
