Thank you, I am very interested in no till methods. For some reason I could never figure out what type of tarps were being used to cover the ground with. So thanks for that. How many years do you think you get out of those silage tarps?
Also, are those tarps you are planting into silage tarps as well?
The one's we have will last at least 10 years. Maybe much more. They are very durable. We had an ash tree fall on one of them by accident and even that did not affected it at all (punctured a few small holes here and there and that's all).

No, we do not plant into silage tarps. We plant into agrotextile (breathable and lets water through).
