It all began the night Adèle moved into her new apartment. The place seemed perfect: spacious, cheap, quiet… too quiet.

On the first night, she heard a faint sound, like breathing, coming from the wall behind her bed. At first, she thought it was her imagination. But as the nights passed, the breathing grew heavier… warmer… almost brushing against the back of her neck.

One evening, frustrated, she pressed her ear against the wall. A whisper escaped from it:
— “You took my room…”
Terrified, Adèle stepped back. The wall vibrated, as if it had a beating heart. Cracks slowly opened, revealing a black, bony hand trying to grab her.

She screamed, but no one came. The wall opened wider, sucking in the air, sucking in her screams… sucking in Adèle.

The next morning, the apartment was empty. The landlord handed the keys to a new tenant with a smile:
— “Don’t worry, the walls here are very solid.”
