The initial aircraft with standing room are slated to debut as early as 2026

Via the Skyrider 2.0 seating design, low-cost airlines will be able to carry even more travelers on airplanes. Per recent accounts, as penned by the Daily Mail, soft, bicycle-like seats on which travelers will ride in an upright stance, without sitting completely, now satisfy safety standards and have cleared the associated evaluation.

These seats are projected to boost the passenger capacity of aircraft by 20% and will go into operation next year on flights that last up to 2 hours.
