The Bantayan Festival, which featured collaborative arts and cultural attractions, culinary delights, and a bazaar for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) at Bantayan Beach, Seunuddon, North Aceh, Indonesia, officially concluded on Sunday, July 13, 2025.

The Bantayan Festival was opened by the Regent of North Aceh, Ismail A. Jalil, on Saturday, July 12, 2025. In his remarks, Ismail, familiarly known as Ayah Wa, expressed his hope that the Bantayan Festival would support the promotion of Islamic tourism. "This activity is expected to preserve Acehnese arts and culture and increase tourist visits to Bantayan Beach," he said.

He also hoped that MSMEs in North Aceh would take advantage of the event to promote their products. "And all of these activities provide economic benefits to the surrounding community," added Ismail A. Jalil, who was accompanied by the Head of the North Aceh Regency Youth, Sports, and Tourism Office, M. Nasir, M.Si.

The Bantayan Festival opened with performances of the Ranub Lampuan and Tarek Pukat dances from several elementary schools in North Aceh. The two dances competed on the main stage. The young dancers took turns performing, captivating the audience.

The first-place winner for the Ranub Lampuan dance was Sanggar Bungong Seureune from SD Negeri 3 Dewantara, earning a total score of 630. Meanwhile, the first-place winner for the Tarek Pukat dance was Sanggar Tari Lentera Nusantara from SD Negeri 2 Tanah Jambo Aye, with a score of 650.

The Head of the Jury, Raisa Agustiana, noted that one of the strengths of the Sanggar Bungong Seureune dancers was their harmonious movement from start to finish. Besides their performance, they also demonstrated excellence. "Even when the music stopped, and it wasn't their fault, the children didn't lose their pattern and movement until the very end," Raisa said after the winners were announced on Sunday afternoon.

Meanwhile, second place for the Ranub Lampuan dance was won by the Cicem Pala Dance Studio from Tanah Jambo Aye 10 Elementary School with a score of 622. Third place went to the Putroe Ceudah Studio from Tanah Jambo Aye 7 Elementary School with a score of 598.

In addition to winning first place for the Ranub Lampuan dance, the Bungong Seureune Studio also won second place for the Tarek Pukat dance with a score of 644. Third place went to the Intan Payong Studio from Tanah Jambo Aye 6 Elementary School.

According to Raisa, several dance groups performed below standard standards and did not adhere to technical guidelines, such as not using ropes in the Tarek Pukat dance or featuring dancers who had already graduated from elementary school.

The Head of the Tourism Division of the North Aceh Regency Youth and Sports Agency (Disporapar), Umar Ali, MAP, stated that they initially planned to hold a creative dance competition. However, due to time constraints and other technical reasons, the creative dance competition was canceled.

From Lhokseumawe City to Bantayan Beach in Seunuddon, North Aceh, it takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to travel 46.2 kilometers. The entrance fee to Bantayan Beach is IDR 10,000 for cars and IDR 5,000 for motorcycles. []
