Jameuen Kupie Antique Tourism

in Hot News Community8 days ago

On this occasion I would like to share a brief review of JAMEUEN KUPIE, a unique coffee shop located in Cot Bada Baroh, Peusangan, Bireuen. Different from the usual coffee shop, this place presents an old-fashioned feel with hundreds of collections of antiques such as ontel bicycles, old radios, to typewriters and old money. The classic atmosphere is felt since entering the thatched-roof gate, with an interior that is neatly arranged and full of historical value. In addition to being a cozy place to have coffee, this place is also suitable for reminiscing or getting to know more about Acehnese objects of the past.

Jameuen Kupie in Cot Bada Baroh, Peusangan Sub-district, Bireuen District, is one of the most unique and characterful coffee spots in Aceh. It is strategically located only about 70 meters from the Medan-Banda Aceh national crossing road, making it easily accessible to anyone who is passing by or deliberately wants to visit. Upon entering the area, the old-fashioned atmosphere is immediately welcoming. The entrance gate uses a thatched roof, decorated with classic old-fashioned lamps hanging around it, emphasizing the old-school impression that is the main identity of this place.

Jameuen Kupie is not just an ordinary cafe, but also a mini museum that houses hundreds of Acehnese antiques. From Dutch-era motorbikes and ontel bikes, old radios, black and white televisions, charcoal irons, typewriters, classic leather suitcases, to various types of old oil lamps, everything is neatly arranged and clean, presenting a visual experience that brings visitors as if they are traveling in time. Interestingly, all these antique collections are not for sale. They are displayed solely for visitors to enjoy, serving as an educational and nostalgic attraction for those who have lived in that era or are simply curious about the forms of household objects in the past.

Not only large items, Jameuen Kupie also offers more detailed collections such as old money, classic drink bottles, and advertising signs from decades ago. Shop signboards, old promotional banners and posters also adorn the walls, enriching the experience for visitors who like to observe the historical value of everyday items. The interior of this place is truly made to blend in with the nuances of the past. The ceiling is left open with woven bamboo, decorated with low-hanging oil lamps that emit a dim glow at night. The atmosphere is warm, calm and perfect for relaxing while sipping coffee.

The tables and chairs are mostly old-style thick wood, strong and sturdy, blending in with the building's concept of using more natural materials. The cleanliness is also well maintained. Although the concept is old-fashioned and filled with old items, this place doesn't seem dirty or dusty at all. The floors are clean, the seating is neatly arranged, and all corners of the space seem to be taken seriously. There is also a musala facility that is comfortable enough to be used for prayers, showing the owner's attention to the needs of visitors who come from various backgrounds.

The experience is complete with culinary offerings that are no less interesting. There are a variety of snacks and drinks typical of Aceh in the old days, served in unique containers such as old-school tin plates and old glass cups. One of the highlights is the instant noodle flour fritters served with Aceh's signature sambal kecap (soy sauce), which is not only appetizing, but also memorable. There are also various other local snacks such as home-made chips, traditional pastries and old-fashioned bottled drinks that are hard to find elsewhere.

When I arrived in the afternoon, it was already quite crowded. Many visitors come with friends or family. Some just sat and enjoyed their coffee, while others were busy capturing photos in the very aesthetic corners. This place is a favorite for photography lovers, social media content hunters, and anyone who just wants to enjoy a relaxing atmosphere that is different from the usual coffee places.

Every corner of Jameuen Kupie holds a story. On one side of the wall, an old bicycle is hung as an artistic display. Traditional kitchen utensils such as tampi, mortar, pestle and basket are artistically arranged to enhance the nostalgic feel. A corner resembling an old-fashioned warung, complete with glass display cases, old radios and manual weighing equipment, makes visitors feel like they are truly in the past. There are no modern elements such as digital screens or electronic payment systems. Everything is done the conventional way, further reinforcing the old-school atmosphere that is the soul of this place.

Jameuen Kupie manages to be a space of time, a place that can bring people back to an era before the world was filled with digital technology. It reminds us of meaningful simplicity, back in the days when interactions were still warm and time was slower. With its authentic collection of antiques, delicious traditional food, tranquil atmosphere, and detailed and well-maintained interior arrangements, Jameuen Kupie deserves to be one of the most unique cultural and culinary tourism destinations in Bireuen. For anyone who longs for the past or wants to introduce the younger generation to the value of history, this place is not only worth visiting, but also worth remembering.

Apakah salah jika aku memperbaiki tulisanku? Atau anda menginginkan tulisan orang lain semakin hari semakin jelek.
