Meatball Gatok Kuta Blang
Greetings everyone, this time I will share my review of bakso gatok Kuta Blang. Hope you all are always in good health and can watch.
Along the Banda Aceh - Medan crossing road, precisely in the Kuta Blang area, stands a simple but charmingly flavorful stall called Serana Gatok Asli Kuta Blang or also known as Bakso Gatok Kuta Blang. This stall is the only place to eat “gatok” meatballs in the area. Unlike other meatball stalls in general, Serana Gatok Asli offers a specialty in every bowl, especially with a special dish in the form of a large marrow bone that tempts the taste buds. Its strategic location on the side of a large road makes it a favorite stopover for road passersby and the surrounding community who miss the taste of rich and delicious meatballs.

My friends and I visited this stall in the afternoon, when the sun was starting to fall and the streets were still quite busy. We came in groups after traveling, and this warung became our stopover place to recharge our batteries. The atmosphere inside the stall was already quite crowded. Many other visitors also stopped for a moment from their journey to enjoy the warm and appetizing dishes in this place. Although the place is simple, just a wooden building with yellow paint that has become a bit dull, it still feels comfortable. The dining tables are made of plain wood with bright green patterned cloths, and the chairs are orange plastic chairs. In the center of the room is a pole equipped with a fan to ward off the heat, and there is a small toilet that is clean enough for visitors' needs.
The atmosphere in front of the bakso gatok stall
The main attraction is Bakso Gatok, a portion of warm meatball soup served with a large marrow bone. The meat is tender, doused in a thick yellowish broth, and comes with sliced spring onions, lime, and chili sauce for those who like spicy flavors. The portion is quite large and really satisfying. The marrow inside the large bones can be sipped directly, giving a soft and savory sensation that is hard to find elsewhere. The rich, warm flavor of the broth is perfect to enjoy in the afternoon, especially after a long journey.
Me and my friends who visited here
The price of a portion of Bakso Gatok is very affordable, which is IDR 25,000 or if converted to digital currency is equivalent to 10.62 Steem. With a filling portion and a very distinctive taste, this price feels very feasible and even fairly cheap for such a satisfying culinary experience. For drinks, we ordered several types of cold drinks available at this stall. Some of our friends ordered Cold Nutrition, a refreshing energy drink that is perfect for quenching thirst after a hot meal. Others ordered Cold Tea, which was equally refreshing. Interestingly, both types of drinks are priced at the same price, which is IDR 5,000 or equivalent to 2.12 Steem. The drinks are served in clear plastic cups, accompanied by ice cubes that make it even fresher in the throat.
The service at this stall is fast and friendly. The employees are quick to serve the orders of the visitors who come one after another. Despite the crowds and limited space, the atmosphere was orderly and not chaotic. We didn't have to wait too long for our order to arrive. Interestingly, the manager of this warung, known as Pak Sumanto, is known to be very friendly and often greets customers with a warm smile. He is also happy to explain the contents of each menu item, especially to new visitors who are curious about the concept of “gatok” in meatballs.
The atmosphere inside the stall when we visited
Our experience at Serana Gatok Asli Kuta Blang was very pleasant. Not only because of the delicious and authentic taste of the food, but also because of the family atmosphere and simplicity offered by this place. Behind the unglamorous appearance of the stall are the distinctive values of Aceh's culinary culture, which highly values taste, hospitality and togetherness. It's also a symbol that the pleasure of food doesn't have to come from expensive places or modern designs, but from hereditary recipes and sincere service.
For anyone traveling along the Banda Aceh to Medan route or vice versa, a quick stop at Bakso Gatok Kuta Blang could be the perfect choice. This stall is not just a place to eat, but also a meeting point for flavor lovers and road warriors. A plate of marrow meatballs and a glass of cold tea in this simple place might be the most memorable moment in a long journey. So, if you're passing through the Kuta Blang area, be sure to try this legendary meatball gatok.
