A successful burial ceremony of Late Hon. Michael Sebastian Etukakpan.
On Friday, September 19, I attended the funeral ceremony of the late Hon. Michael Sebastian Etukakpan, the elder brother of my friend Charles. I had been documenting the design and printing of the funeral materials on this my blog, so it was only fitting that I be there to pay my respects.
As I arrived at the ceremony, I was struck by the sheer number of people in attendance. The event was a colourful celebration of the late Hon. Etukakpan's life, but it was also a somber reminder of his passing. The political class was well-represented, a testament to his influence and leadership in his clan, Ikpa Nung Asang in Ikot Abasi Local Government Area.
One of the most touching moments came when the Etinan Institute Old Student's Association paid their respects, showing up in full force to support their late member. As I listened to the testimonies, condolences, and tributes, it became clear that Hon. Etukakpan was a generous and kind-hearted man who had touched many lives.

After the ceremony, I made my way back to Uyo, arriving around 4 pm. Despite feeling tired, I had to head to the office. As fate would have it, I had a customer waiting for me, the CEO of Progressive Recipes, a popular bakery known for their delicious cakes and snacks.
She needed a birthday design for a client's cake, and I was happy to help. I worked on the design, and she gave her approval for printing the next day, Saturday, September 20.
I was so happy for the opportunity to pay my respects to Hon. Etukakpan and his family. It was a poignant reminder of the importance of celebrating life, even in the midst of grief.
Oh my!! The family will greatly miss him. I still miss my uncle we buried last month and I wish he is still here with us. The family should take heart because he has gone to rest with the Lord.
