Bhowanipur Railway Station is located 15 km South of Parbatipur Railway Station. Bhowanipur Railway Station is famous for many reasons, one of the reasons is that it is a railway junction built by the British. It was opened before 1945. However, after 1980, Parbatipur Rail Station started to be modernized and Bhowanipur station kept closing. After many years of closure, this station was rebuilt. However, for about 20-30 years, only one train stopped here once a day.

This ticket counter still carries the old tradition. It has almost been destroyed due to carelessness and neglect. At one time, people used to collect tickets from this counter but no one sits here anymore. Because only one train stops here whose ticket is given on the train. It is known as local train.

This new ticket counter building was built in 2023. But it has not been opened yet. It was built in a new way due to the movement of students and people of our area. All the digital methods of this ticket counter have been added just to wait for the time to open this counter. There is a rest area with this ticket counter. Passengers coming from far away can take rest at this place. This rest area is outside the ticket counter. However, the work is ongoing, so a seating area will also be made outside the counter.

The control box made by the British is still in use. Sometimes, when a train needs to be retired at this station or to eliminate any mechanical fault in the train, this control room is used to establish a railway connection. One line is connected to another line through this control room. Also, from here, the line skier signals the line fault and the correct time is determined by touching the trail line. Due to low use, this control room is now almost useless.

Most of the people who travel by train from this station are farmers or working class people. It costs very little to travel by this local train, so they travel from this place. When I go to this station in the morning, I see about 30 to 40 people going to work in different places. That is, the only means of travel from North Bengal to South Bengal in Bangladesh is the local train that stops here. The workers usually go to Khulna by train to harvest paddy, so this train is a blessing for them.

The platform of this station is about 500 meters long. Since the station is not operational, small children run on the platform of this station all day long. There are many trees planted here, due to which this place is always cool. Many boys sit here and play Ludo. Today I saw many old people sitting here playing cards. This station platform is also an entertainment place. This station is 2 kilometers away from my house, so I also go here and hang out. In the afternoon, boys play Free Fire and PUBG games on this platform.

About 40 hectares of land in this station is in a state of decay. Most of the land here is laid with a line worth about 2 million dollars. There is a lot of infrastructure along with these lines in the station. When the station is opened, those decayed areas will start being used again. Many people have built houses in these decayed areas. It is hoped that when the station is opened, the government will be able to earn a lot of money by renting these areas and will be able to improve the railway system.
