Phulbari Railway Station

Today I will discuss with you about Phulbari Railway Station. This Phulbari Railway Station is located 15 kilometers away from my house. It takes about 20 minutes to go by bike and 30 to 35 minutes if you take an auto or a taxi. But most of the time I take my bike to the station. The road from my house to this railway station is not very developed.

Fulbari Station is an important railway station in Dinajpur district in northern Bangladesh. Basically, the part north of the Jamuna Bridge is considered as the northern region. And the southern region is considered as the rest. It is under Rangpur division and part of the Fulbari upazila of Dinajpur district. Fulbari Station is a part of the Western Railway of Bangladesh and is located on the Dhaka-Chilahati railway line.

Various intercity and local trains transport passengers daily through this station (2 local trains). Especially passengers going to Dinajpur, Saidpur, Thakurgaon and Panchagarh can travel easily from this station. This station has made the travel of the people of the northwestern region easier.

The location of the station is very important geographically and commercially. The coal power plant and coal mines are very close from here. Therefore, it is an important station for foreign tourists. Although the people here are agriculturally dependent, they are largely dependent on the railway for transportation and goods.

If you look at the picture, you will see that mangoes have been kept at the station to transport trains. Various agricultural products and fruits, especially mangoes and litchis, are also sent to different parts of the country through freight trains from Fulbari station. Which plays a helpful role in the local economy of our farmers.

Although Fulbari station is an important place, it is not a developed station. Currently, Fulbari station is waiting for modernization. Although it is still being run under the British structure. Still, for general passengers, the station has a ticket counter, water system and a 32-inch television for watching news. But security here has not improved so much yet.

Our student society has been demanding further development of the station in this regard for a long time. There has been a movement in the past. I hope it will improve in the future. There are markets, schools, colleges and my national school next to Fulbari station. Students can easily travel to the college from Birampur and Parbatipur.
