‘House Party’ Review: ’90s Cult Classic Falls Flat in Its Lackluster Revival

Although the 1990 film House Party may not be a masterpiece of cinema, its contagious spirit and sense of good humour helped it become a huge hit. Along with the comedy pair Kid 'n Play (Christopher Reid and Christopher Martin) playing the lead roles, it also has Martin Lawrence, Robin Harris, John Witherspoon, and Tisha Campbell in outstanding supporting roles. Numerous sequels to the well-known teen comedy have been produced, and now director Calmatic has brought us a "remix, not a remake."
