Incredible India monthly contest of June#1|Old Vs New!
Incredible India Community has organized today's event on a very beautiful topic, so first of all I would like to applaud you very much. For taking such an initiative, I will try to participate in today's competition with my proper mindset. I am @mamun123456 participating in today's competition.
Uff! My head is spinning, I am thinking so much, what can I say! How are you all, are you well? I hope you are having a good day. The fact that we are alive, the fact that life is going on, sometimes I feel like this is a strange thing, isn't it? Something is always changing, and seeing these changes sometimes makes my mind feel a bit nostalgic, I mean, a 'nostalgic' thing comes. Not now, three questions are going on in my mind. They keep going on. That's why I sat down to talk to you.
Well, what things were much better than before, but how has everything changed now?
I think the first thing I would say is the relationship between people, that is, the direct conversation. To be honest, now everyone has a mobile phone and the internet! It wasn't like that before, was it? What would happen then? What would we do? We would go to everyone's house. Yes, we would go! We would sit together and talk! We would have tea, biscuits and the conversation would go on and on! I mean, living in Malaysia, I can still see that in some places people still sit face to face and talk, but most of it has changed. Those chats with friends at the corner of the neighborhood, or in the shop, in the afternoon, they don't seem to be there anymore. Everything seems to have disappeared! Everyone is busy now! What's the point? These mobile phones, laptops. Meetings have decreased, chats and messages have taken the place of chats! Phew! The deep connection that used to exist, the sincerity of looking into the eyes and talking, I can't find that anymore. What can I say!
Another thing that has changed is patience. I think we used to be very patient. How long would we wait for a letter, tell me? Waiting to hear some news! Now I want the results of everything, I mean, right now! In an instant! It's as if there's a restlessness, a rush inside all of us! What will happen to us!
When I say 'old is gold', what does it really mean? What do I think?
To me, 'old gold' doesn't just mean old jewelry or old things. Not at all. 'old gold' means those priceless memories, some of our own traditions and some extraordinary values of love, which shine more and more as time goes by! It somehow sheds a different light! It could be, say, my childhood days. Yes, there were no mobile phones or tablets back then! But how much fun we had! Running home with friends after school, playing football in the rain - these memories are 'gold'! I mean, these are real joys!
Or, say, the stories of those old days heard from my grandparents, or the old people of the area. What was their life like? Their simple lifestyle, their faith in people and their stories of love – these are what taught me how to look at life. Those relationships, those emotions, and the simple peace of those days – to me, these are the real 'gold'. Just as old songs touch our hearts even today, the memories of those old days also stir our hearts somehow. A sweet but slightly sad feeling.
Well, why is change necessary for a better future? What is the need for all these changes?
I know, I love the old very much. But this is also true, absolutely true! Not change, but very necessary, for a better future. If change had not come, do you know what would have happened? We might still be in that primitive era! Just think for a moment, if there had been no electricity, no internet, or no cars and planes? Then how difficult and inconvenient our lives would have been! What would we have done?
These changes that come, these are the ones that help us learn something new. They seem to pull us towards something better. For example, suppose that now that climate change is such a big problem, we need new technologies, new ways to deal with it. Or suppose, the treatment of diseases. New medicines, new methods – these are coming from this change, which are saving people's lives. These changes are making our lives easier, safer and more comfortable.
Yes, it is also true that with change comes some bad sides. I mean, everything has its good and bad sides, right? For example, now we are so busy with our mobile phones that we have reduced our direct communication with each other. But how we can come out of these bad sides, how we can do better, that is also what we are learning through this change, right? We are trying!
I think that life is like a river. If a river is stagnant in one place, then its water rots, it stinks. Change keeps the river moving, keeps it clean, and takes it to new places. Similarly, change keeps our lives moving, shows us new dreams, and pushes us towards new horizons. So, no matter how much we love the old, we have to welcome the new with a smile. Because, a bright and better future comes through this path of change. And that's what we want, right?
I hope these random, but heartfelt words of mine will strike a new chord in your mind too. Be well.
