The July contest #1 by sduttaskitchen| Advanced technology opens the door to advanced crimes!
Assalam o alaikum.
Hello my steemit friends i hope you are all doing well and enjoying life. I enjoy writing and taking part in different contests. I love sharing my ideas with people and learning from others as well. In today’s post i am writing for the contest “Advanced technology opens the door to advanced crimes.” This topic is very important in today’s modern world because technology is everywhere now and it affects our daily life. But along with many good things there are also some risks.
Do you believe advanced technologies open the door to advanced crimes?
Advanced technology has helped us in many ways like easy communication online banking education and entertainment. But sadly it has also opened the door to new types of crimes. In the past a thief had to break into a house to steal something. But now a criminal can sit in another country and steal your money from your bank account using the internet. Hackers can break into systems steal personal data and even blackmail people. Some people make fake social media accounts to trick or harm others. Many young girls and boys become victims of cyberbullying online blackmailing and scams. Even Artificial Intelligence is being used in a wrong way to make fake videos or deepfakes. So yes advanced crimes are now increasing because of advanced technology. Technology is not bad by itself but the wrong use of it becomes dangerous for society. So we must be very careful and use it responsibly.
Do you believe we must need an antidote before launching any technology?
We must have an antidote or safety plan before we allow any new technology to be used by the public. Before a new medicine is given to people doctors and scientists test it many times to make sure it is safe. In the same way when we create a new app tool or software we must think about how people can misuse it and how we can stop that. For example if a company is making a new messaging app they must add strong security features privacy settings and an easy way for users to report abuse. We should not wait for crimes to happen and then look for solutions. Prevention is better than cure. It is always better to prepare safety tools and educate people before a new technology is introduced. This will save many people from becoming victims of cybercrime.
Share some tips through which we can alert old family members and society’s view of cybercrime.
Our old family members are not very familiar with new technology. Many of them don’t know how to protect themselves online. We need to teach them some basic things in a simple and kind way. First we should tell them not to share their personal information like ID card numbers bank account details or passwords with anyone especially not on phone calls or through messages. Second we should help them set strong passwords on their phones apps and social media accounts. Third we must install antivirus and safety software on their devices. Fourth we should keep checking their phones or computers to see if anything looks suspicious. Fifth we should tell them about common scams like fake lottery calls or messages asking for money. And lastly we must spend time with them so they feel safe and confident to ask questions.
Talking about society’s view of cybercrime i feel that awareness is growing but still not enough. In big cities people are now understanding that cybercrime is a serious issue. Many schools and colleges are teaching students about online safety. Police departments also have cybercrime units. But in smaller towns and villages people still don’t know much about it. Sometimes victims of cybercrime are blamed especially if they are girls. People say things like “Why did she talk to strangers?” instead of blaming the criminal. This thinking needs to change. We must supported the victims and takes strong action against the peoples who do these crimes. Cybercrime is just as dangerous as physical crimes and society must take it seriously.
I wants to say that technology is a powerful tool. It can be used for good or for bad. It is our duty to used it wisely and also protects ourselves and others from its wrong use we must stay alert educated others and build a safer online world for everyone.
I am inviting friends @jasminemary @isha.ish @pinki.chak
Yes it's true most of this old people do not know how to operate a phone but it's necessary to guide and explain to them in a simple language in order not to fall a victim. Protection is very important when it come to online stuff so that each and everyone of us will take caution not to click on any link send to us by strangers.
Thank you so much for inviting me and wishing you all the best for this contest.
This is a thoughtful and powerful post highlighting both the benefits and dangers of modern technology. I appreciate your call for awareness, prevention, and education—especially for vulnerable groups. We truly must use technology wisely and protect each other online.
You make some good points. I like the sentence, We should not wait for crimes to happen and then look for solutions. This is what should be done. Great one.
