I believe that judgment requires balance. Left without balance, we may judge with bias, act out of impulsiveness, act on temporary emotions.

For example, in making significant decisions, like deciding on a job, resolving a conflict, or characterizing someone, can we depend on emotion or logic alone? By being overly rational, we can forget the humanity. In the other extreme, if we are too emotional the objectivity could be lost. In this the balance must be right, for if not, if one side rules too much, then we have a demigod again. Balance brings wisdom, patience, and the ability to tell right from wrong. Balance, here, means the ability to keep emotions in check, to see sides of a situation, to go through logic and feelings pretty evenly. A situation is judged mature and responsible only when someone is willing to to look at it from various point of views.

Balance is key in making the correct decisions. I think balance and judgment are two sides of the same coin. They harmonize and are companions. The only source of good judgment is from a balanced mind and heart. Balance is also worthless if it doesn’t show up in our everyday decisions and behavior. By learning to measure different elements of life—work and family, what is expected and what is real, what we believe and our acceptance of others—so too we can learn to weigh the scales in fair and wise judgment.

You say, 'In a world increasingly fraught and in transition, those who carry a poised judgement will be serene, common sensical– dependable, if we may say so. They cannot be easily influenced or controlled by pressure, the views of others or the abuse of their rights. We make better choices when we are balanced, whether we're defused day-to-day decisions or we experience the events of life that may require us to make "big decisions." And so, fucking with our sense of balance, both within us and around us, is bad for every decision we make.
