Celebrating Independence Day and Parsee New Year
Wishing all my Indian friends a very Happy Independence day. Well there are no Parsees here so I cannot wish Parsee New Year. Basically it's my religion New Year today. Thankfully it's Friday and it's a weekend here in Oman so good time to celebrate both the days, and I miss India so much on such times. The vibe is so different, you are between your own people and doing all those traditional things which gives a spark to the day.
It is the 79th year of India's Independence. Most of the instituions and societies have a flag hoisting ceremony today, we too have it in our society. It's important to do these things for the younger generation to understand what sacrifices have gone in to living in this free India. If India was not looted by the Britishers, probably it would had been one of the most prospering Countries of the world today. Nevertheless all the achievements it has made since independence have also been commendable and I am always proud to be an Indian.
Today to celebrate my new year, me along with some of my community friends we have booked a over night resort stay at Shangri-La, which is one of the good resort chains of the world. Some months back, we were at the mall and there was a promotional offer going on for this resort which was giving a 50% summer discount offer on stay. We had bought it then and decided to use it for New Year's. I am so excited. I have made some traditional food for lunch, which I will carry and we will have it together at the resort. And I am looking forward to a relaxed cozy day in the pool.
I will share the pictures of our stay in a couple of days. As of today I am going to enjoy my day with hubby and friends and I will see you all tomorrow.
Happy weekend to everyone.

The Shangri-La resort stay sounds absolutely divine – what a fantastic way to celebrate! Enjoy your time by the pool and the delicious traditional food you've prepared. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the pictures from your stay and hearing all about it.
It is beautiful how you're instilling a sense of patriotism and historical awareness in the younger generation. Wishing you a weekend filled with joy, relaxation, and cherished moments with your loved ones. Enjoy every minute! 😊
