I am truly happy for you @sumatranate, at least you have people from your "home" coming to see you, I guess that your children are able to speak bahasa as well even a little. :D, very nice buddy. wish your yearning of "home" now have little cure.

yes, you know Indonesia very well, and Aceh also have similarity with Melayu (part of the place you stayed long ago)

  1. What is a traditional food item that is famous where you live?

Most famous in Aceh Is Timphan (the cake in banana leave, it has many variant over Indonesia)

  1. If you are living in another country, what food do you miss most from your home country?

Kuah pliek, kinda curie with very specific receipt from fermented coconut cook with many kind of vegetables (Only available in Aceh)

My kids can speak bahasa a little bit, but have forgotten most of what they knew. It was so nice to have guests from Indonesia in my home. Thanks for sharing a bit about the traditions from Aceh. I will tell my family that you say hi.
