Life of a Boarding House Worker: Struggles, Shifts, and Dreams

Hello Steemit friends 👋

Let me introduce myself. I’m Taufik, a young worker living in a small rented room (boarding house) in Indonesia. I work in shifts, and like many others, I’m trying to balance life, work, and dreams — all within a tight budget.

🕒 Work-Life on Shifts

My daily routine is not easy. Some days I work from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM (morning shift), and on other days, I start at 12:30 PM and finish at 10:00 PM (night shift). There are even days when I work from 9:30 AM until 10:00 PM — a full day.

But even with this schedule, I try to make time for small joys — cooking instant noodles, watching simple YouTube videos, or dreaming about my next goals.

💸 The Budget Life

My monthly income is around 4.2 million Rupiah (about $260). After paying for rent, electricity, internet, and basic needs, there's not much left. I cook simple food with a small rice cooker and an electric stove. No fridge, no luxury — just survival.

But you know what? This life teaches me something valuable: how to be resourceful, patient, and grateful.

🎯 My Dream

Right now, I'm saving up to buy a smartphone so I can create more content and explore opportunities like blogging and video making. I want to grow, step by step.

Joining Steemit is a big part of that dream. I believe that by writing and sharing, I can connect with others, maybe inspire, and maybe earn something too.

🤝 Why I'm Here

I'm here not only to write, but to learn and grow together with this amazing community. I hope you enjoyed reading my small story. If you’ve ever been in a similar situation — living on a tight budget, working hard, dreaming big — I’d love to hear your story too.

Thank you for reading. Let’s support each other! 🙏
