RE: I am in Kent in the UK and have just now got wifi. I'm sharing a 2016 #inktober

Oh it is so good to hear from you @ddschteinn, I am too, horribly behind.

My ideal would be to live all year round in the UK to me it is truly home and I always feel the most 'in my element' here, but no the plan is 6 here 6 usa. I am lucky in my friends who can live year round so we are getting a place together to which I will come and go annually.

The tea IS better and stronger and well even though I must admit the Cape does a decent Fish and chips, they can't touch a British chip shop and I love MUSHY peas, which for some reason never made it over the Atlantic with the fish and chips and who knows whey we (Americans) kept calling 'fries' chips but ONLY when they are with fish. But, I love the comparrison of New England and Old England English, it's fascinating.

I also drink much boring water as well. Today for my luncheon out we went Italian so I had the best cappuccino, and a wonderful onion soup made with almonds, not very British, but very wonderful.

Once settled I'm sure I'll bore you all with peppered English anecdotes, so hold onto your hat for those.

Oh and the airport was hilarious, well now it's hilarious, at the time we honestly began to feel we were on 'candid camera' as we had to push our luggage all round the airport, we'd ask for the rental area and someone would say round the corner and then next corner another person would say round the corner, then we ended up at the trams to get from the North to South terminal and it began again, until filly the right 'corner' resulted in our rental, which was a far too large Van that is determined to clip every sensibly sized car in the sensible countryside lanes round Kent.

From your post I was not really aware of why and what happening in the Kingdoms. But I was right in expecting a novel-sized comment with more details!

I look forwards and in all directions to some more anecdotes I have not heard to date. I'm sure there will be a passleload. Your airport adventure sounds like a hoot, as you say, a day or two later. At the time, nothing but a pain in the petoot. Traveling is so fun, and can be a real hair puller too. Well, hope this finds you finding a house and happy and full of tea and scones in Merry England.
