Hello everyone, xin chào from Viet Nam. My nickname is Sửu, which means buffalo in English, now you know where the buffalo baby come from right? 😂

We love buffalo here in Viet Nam, especially my hometown because they are our friends, they help us a lot with farming which is our essential thing. They are chill and hard working, and don't ask much for food, just grass, straw or corn powder.

The photos were taken by me in the time the rice fields were already harvested. They are more beautiful when green.

Back to myself, I am a countryside girl, and have lived in a peaceful mountainous area with a dream to go explore the big world. My first little achievement was being selected to go to Japan for around 2 weeks for an exchange program when I was at high school. That was an amazing trip that changed my point of view of going abroad. However, that was not enough motivation and confidence for me to do something after finishing high school, also my family didn’t have much money for me to study abroad. So I chose the nearest college and studied there for 4 years.

One day, I felt like there was an inner drive, reminding me of the last trip in Japan, urging me to do something different after a long time having been around a small area for too long, so I decided to find a way to go abroad. My family at first didn't like it because they worried that there are many dangers out there, and a countryside girl like me couldn't survive with a complicated world outside. I didn’t convince them, I just tried my best to do all paperworks, interviews,.. till finally I was sure I had a job there, in Singapore. So I told my family that I will go there, be careful and will make more money. My family finally compromised with my will and ambition, they supported me and wished me luck.

I lived and worked in Singapore for more than 2 years with a main job at a hospital and a side job at local weddings, basically serving food and cleaning empty dishes. It was a sweet part time job that I always brought a lot of food home and saved a lot of money for food the next couple days. I tried my best to earn some money to nurture other dreams. While living there, I travelled to Malaysia, Indonesia which made me desire to go to other countries. I decided I will go to Australia after that but Covid really broke my plan 😂 I came back to Viet Nam and live and work at a beautiful beach city and sometimes travel to different areas in Viet Nam and other countries.

That’s a little sharing of my paths, besides I have a few simple hobbies which are cooking, travelling, gardening and drawing. And I have heard of this amazing channel where I can share my experience, my food passion. I decided to make it here so I can go abroad by sharing and connecting with you guys.

More specific about cooking, the most passionate and confident I have. I have been cooking for my big family with 7 people since I was a little girl. I am not a chef, I just really love cooking and eating good food. I can talk and think about food every day, wondering if maybe I was a pig in my past life :D.

These photos were food I made, taken by myself.

So that’s all for my introduction post, hopefully you guys welcome and support me to write more about Viet Nam, about my food and my experience which I find interesting.

Love you all and have a great day my friends!
P.s: Sorry my profile and background photo didn’t update. I tried so many times to save it but still didn’t work.
