I actually read a piece a couple of weeks ago that if the world economy become more deglobalized that Argentina may emerge a big winner given the resources they have internally. Would be an interesting concept to consider as a contrarian!
I did have success in investing in Argentina a while back. The tariff war is certainly good for them as they are a strong alternate source of supply. Sadly, most of their politicians have grown comfortable running a corrupt business model and do not have the disciplines to run a modern market economy.
But it will make a strong contrarian call in due course.
