Ireland bans 'Fracking' and by doing so joins France, Germany and Bulgaria

Ireland made history by setting a ban to ban onshore fracking. In the next few days the President will sign the Petroleum and Other Minerals Development (Prohibition of Onshore Hydraulic Fracturing) Bill. In Ireland it has been said this is a great victory, lots over the past few years have campaigned and protested to get fracking banned due to the harmful fret it poses to the local water.

What Is Fracking?

Fracking is when you inject chemicals into rock, which then at a high pressure allows gas to flow out to the head of the well. Personally I think this is a great victory and joining France, Germany and Bulgaria is a great result for Ireland.
