Da un paio di settimane ho iniziato a lavorare come Capo Villaggio in un grande camping village al Lido di Spina, un lembo della provincia ferrarese che occhieggia discretamente al Veneto.
La struttura' arrivera' in piena stagione a contenere 6000 persone, al momento sono molte meno, ci sono gli stagionali italiani, gente che e' qua' ogni estate in roulotte, paga una notevole quota fissa e considera il tutto alla stregua di una seconda casa.

Questi ancora sono pochi perche' siamo a inizio giugno ed ancora si lavora, ci sono invece tanti stranieri, non a caso il mio staff e' multilingue con ragazze olandesi e una della repubblica Ceca, oltre a tutti gli altri che masticano l'inglese.
Ci sono ospiti slovacchi, olandesi, della repubblica ceca, ungheresi, croati e sono in arrivo con la Pentecoste miriadi di tedeschi.

Pare che la Pentecosete da loro sia un po' come il nostro ferragosto, quasi tutti i tedeschi vanno in ferie in giro per il mondo.
Vedendo tutti questi ospiti stranieri che arrivano spendono e spandono (non e' zoma particolarmente economica questa) mi chiedo da discreto viaggiatore, quanti italiani possano oggi come fanno questi stranieri andare in giro per il mondo in vacanza.

L'impressione e' che oramai siamo
messi peggio di tutti questi paesi dell'ex blocco socialista i cui loro abitanti vanno in giro per il mondo.
Con le famiglie italiane che faticano ad arrivare alla terza settimana quanti pssono permettersi 20 euro per una insalata di mare?
Stiamo diventando i barboni d'Europa?

A couple of weeks ago I started working as a Village Manager in a large camping village in Lido di Spina, a strip of land in the province of Ferrara that discreetly winks at Veneto.
The structure will reach 6000 people in high season, at the moment there are much less, there are Italian seasonal workers, people who are here every summer in a caravan, pay a considerable fixed fee and consider it all as a second home.

These are still few because it is the beginning of June and we are still working, there are instead many foreigners, it is no coincidence that my staff is multilingual with Dutch girls and one from the Czech Republic, in addition to all the others who speak English.
There are Slovak, Dutch, Czech, Hungarian, Croatian guests and myriads of Germans are arriving with Pentecost.

It seems that Pentecost for them is a bit like our August bank holiday, almost all Germans go on holiday around the world.
Seeing all these foreign guests who arrive, spend and spend (this is not a particularly cheap place) I wonder as a decent traveler, how many Italians can today go on holiday around the world like these foreigners do.

The impression is that we are now
worse off than all these countries of the former socialist bloc whose inhabitants go around the world.
With Italian families struggling to get to the third week, how many can afford 20 euros for a seafood salad?
Are we becoming the bums of Europe?
