Quando pensiamo che la nostra vita sia un po' incasinata ricordiamoci che ci sono luoghi nel mondo dove la gente vive in case di meno di 1.5 metri quadrati.
Siamo ad Honk Kong, Pezzo di impero britannico inglobato, alcuni decenni fa, dalla Cina ma che gode di una sorta di autonomia, entro certi limiti.
Si ricavano una sorta di "gabbie" da vecchi appartamenti, in modo da ottenere piccole unita' abitative a dasso prezzo, tenete conto che una abitazione costa 20mila dollari al metro quadrato.

Ci sono diverse formule.
I piu' abbienti possono sperare in monolocali di 30/40 metri quadri che vengono divisi in 3 unita' abitative, con mini cucina e mini bagno privato, saltano cosi' fuori 3 "appartamenti" da circa 10 metri quadrati ciascuno dove normalmente vivono da 4 persone in su.
Il costo dell'affitto e' di circa 600/700 euro mensili.

Poi ci sono le case sgabuzzino, siamo sui 3.5 mq, solitamente sono presenti 1/2 bagni da dividere con altre 10 persone, a volte c'e' un ventilatore sul soffitto, se hai culo una finestra.
Il letto e' accanto ai fornelli, il costo di questi sgabuzzini e' di 450 euro al mese.

Quindi abbiamo le case loculo, si tratta di scatole in legno o metallo dalla superficie di 1.5 mq all'interno delle quali si trova un piccolo materasso, all'interno di una stanza vengono piazzate 15/20 scatole, ovviamente bagni e cucina sono in comune.
Sulle pareti e sul soffitto ci sono ganci e barre metalliche per appendere vestiti ed oggetti personali, a volte ai piedi del letto c'e' una mini tv.
Il costo e' di 350 euro al mese.

Quando pensate di aver visto di tutto vi imbattete nelle case gabbia, sono gabbie in rete metallica, impilate una sull'altra, grandi 1.3 mq, in una stanza anche in questo caso vengono piazzate 15/20 gabbie.
Mentre il loculo lo puoi chiudere queste invece non permettono neanche un minimo di privacy, oltre al fatto che ogni scorreggia e' di dominio pubblico.
L'affitto e' intorno ai 170 euro al mese, gli stipendi normalmente sono appena sopra i 1000 euro.
Ovviamente 'e tutto illegale, ma il governo pare non interessarsi della cosa.

MEN IN A CAGE

When we think that our life is a bit messed up, let's remember that there are places in the world where people live in houses of less than 1.5 square meters.
We are in Hong Kong, a piece of the British Empire incorporated, a few decades ago, by China but which enjoys a sort of autonomy, within certain limits.
A sort of "cage" is obtained from old apartments, in order to obtain small housing units at a high price, keep in mind that a house costs 20 thousand dollars per square meter.

There are different formulas.
The more affluent can hope for studios of 30/40 square meters that are divided into 3 housing units, with mini kitchen and mini private bathroom, thus resulting in 3 "apartments" of about 10 square meters each where normally 4 people or more live.
The cost of rent is about 600/700 euros per month.

Then there are the storage houses, we are about 3.5 square meters, usually there are 1/2 bathrooms to share with 10 other people, sometimes there is a fan on the ceiling, if you are lucky a window.
The bed is next to the stove, the cost of these storage rooms is 450 euros per month.

Then we have the loculo houses, these are wooden or metal boxes with a surface area of ​​1.5 square meters inside which there is a small mattress, inside a room 15/20 boxes are placed, obviously bathrooms and kitchen are shared.
On the walls and ceiling there are hooks and metal bars to hang clothes and personal objects, sometimes at the foot of the bed there is a mini TV.
The cost is 350 euros per month.

When you think you've seen it all, you come across cage houses, they are wire mesh cages, stacked on top of each other, 1.3 square meters in size, in one room, again, 15/20 cages are placed.
While you can close the niche, these do not even allow a minimum of privacy, in addition to the fact that every fart is public knowledge.
The rent is around 170 euros a month, salaries are normally just above 1000 euros.
Obviously, it's all illegal, but the government doesn't seem to care.
