Oggi ho deciso di tornare a pubblicare una delle mie fotostorie in bianco e nero, questa volta variando un po' il tema. Chi frequenta il mio blog sa già che sono solito pubblicare immagini imperniate sulle gare ciclistiche che si svolgono nella mia città o subito al di fuori. In questo caso, tuttavia, il principe designato è ancora una volta lo sport, ma "su gambe" anziché su due ruote: una gara podistica.
La competizione di cui ho ritratto alcuni frangenti si è tenuta lo scorso Febbraio, sotto un cielo fortunatamente chiaro e soleggiato. Il clima era ben più rigido di adesso, ma i partecipanti non mancavano. Gli atleti potevano scegliere tra più percorsi: partenza e arrivo a Marina di Carrara, con sconfinamento nel comune di Massa per chi preferiva il percorso più ampio.
Le foto sono state scattate appena al di fuori del centro di Avenza, poi sul litorale in direzione Marina di Massa; infine, sulla passeggiata Lungofrigido che si trova a pochi passi da casa mia. Ho potuto immortalare tutti questi scorci grazie alla mia bici, che mi permetteva di spostarmi a velocità sostenuta. I primi classificati della manifestazione non avevano comunque nulla da invidiarmi, nonostante loro percorressero il tracciato a piedi.
Una volta a casa ho scelto le foto migliori o più accattivanti, e ne ho creato una versione in bianco e nero. Come al solito, ho aggiunto un po' di contrasto, un po' di alte luci, delle vignettature; a volte più tenui, a volte più pronunciate. Spero che il risultato ti piaccia.

Today I decided to post one of my black-and-white photostories, this time with a slightly different theme. Those who frequent my blog already know that I usually post images relating to cycling races held in or just outside the city where I live. This time, the focus is once again on sport, but "on legs" rather than on two wheels: a running race.
The competition in which I captured some moments took place last February, under a fortunately clear and sunny sky. The weather was much colder than it is now, but there was no shortage of participants. Athletes could choose between several routes: starting and finishing in Marina di Carrara, with a crossing into the municipality area of Massa for those who preferred the biggest route.
The photos were taken just outside the center of Avenza, then on the coast towards Marina di Massa, and finally on the Lungofrigido Riverside Walk, just a short distance from my house. I was able to capture all these views thanks to my bike, which allowed me to move at a brisk pace. The top finishers in the event had nothing to envy me, even though they were walking the course.
Once home, I selected the best or most eye-catching photos and created a black and white version. As usual, I added a bit of contrast, highlights, and vignetting; sometimes more subtle, sometimes more pronounced. I hope you liked the result.
