A Simple Morning Health Routine That Changed My Day

Source
The way the morning begins will determine the color of the day. I would wake up at 4 or 5, grab your phone and just take the torrent of notifications to the face and my day was started in chaos. But then once I started doing a very simple morning health routine, I noticed the way my day unfolded was different. Maybe you never realized few minutes can alter your entire day.
What makes having a morning routine so essential?
Morning is the reset button for our brain and body. When we have a good morning, our mind is relaxed, energy is boosted and also concentration on work gets doubled or tripled. But if the day begins late, through sleep or phone scroll, then head feels heavy and stress mounts fast. And research has indicated that the first hour of our day can influence our productivity and mood.
Start with hydration

I have a glass of water when I get up. It seems really simple, but it gets the body awake. I get lightheaded and fatigued from drinking water.
Light movement or stretching

Then I jitter my body around for a few minutes. Not the gym, but stretching my arms and legs or light yoga. This activates the body, circulation increases and also the mind feels lighter.
Mindful minute

Then, I'll sit in silence for about two to three minutes and engage in some deep breathing. I breathe, in and out I close my eyes. This shaves down the junk swirling around in my brain and quiets it.
Small plan for the day

Finally, I write three tasks for the day on a piece of paper. A bit of drama is a good idea, then we are not hassling with savings and the air seems free.

You needn't jump in all at once. Try a day of water only first thing today. Perhaps tomorrow you'll stretch for two minutes. Then add some breathing exercises. Eventually, you'll find they become habits. Plus, you'll be able to tailor the routine as much as you want. And actually if you have no time, spend five minutes.
Final Thoughts
The funny thing is - my morning health routine is actually quite easy. But simplicity is often the key. So today I conclude with a question Will you start tomorrow morning with a glass of water?
