It seems that the minimum wage is expected to be over 1,000 yen in all prefectures. |

On the 11th, the Central Minimum Wage Council (an advisory body to the Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare) began discussions on the minimum wage guidelines that will come into effect in October of this year. Last year, the minimum wage was raised by 51 yen (5.1%), the largest increase ever, and the current national weighted average is 1,055 yen. Due to the high wage increases in this spring's labor offensive and rising prices, a significant increase is expected this year that will surpass last year's. According to a source, the minimum wage after the guidelines are reflected is expected to be over 1,000 yen in all prefectures, which I think is natural, but there has been talk of raising the minimum wage to 1,500 yen, but I think this should be stopped. I think more companies will only hire highly educated people, and shift hours will be reduced, so in the end, I don't think life will change.
