Arthur, do you read Hebrew ? I have always wanted to read a 1st century Hebrew or Aramaic version of Matthew. I am sure that Jesus (Yeshua) used many Hebrew words that have added symbolism and power that gets lost in the Greek and English Translations.
I was ''taught'' Hebrew as a child---I had to go to HEBREW school for 6 years, but I never fully ''learned'' it , just learned it somewhat....not enough to read it and understand it--I truly had more important things to study.
I decided to learn Hebrew after I learned that Jesus name יֵשׁוּעַ
(Salvation) can be read many times in the Old Testament .....
"Here is the God of my Salvation, I shall trust and not fear; for the strength and praise of the Eternal the Lord was my Salvation."
And you shall draw water with joy from the fountains of the Salvation. (Isaiah 12:3)
Hebrew is a sacred and Holy language---but when you are a kid, and you are being FORCED to learn it-it kinda looses its appeal--especially when I was already fully
immersed in painting drawing sculpture, entomology, zoology, and other sciences.....
That is very True.
