KNOWLEDGE IS A RESPONSIBILITY 2
5 FOR HE ISSUED HIS LAWS TO JACOB; HE GAVE HIS INSTRUCTIONS TO ISRAEL. HE COMMANDED OUR ANCESTORS TO TEACH THEM TO THEIR CHILDREN,
6 SO THE NEXT GENERATION MIGHT KNOW THEM—even the children not yet born—AND THEY IN TURN WILL TEACH THEIR OWN CHILDREN."
7 SO EACH GENERATION SHOULD SET ITS HOPE ANEW ON GOD, not forgetting his glorious miracles and obeying his commands.
8 THEN THEY WILL NOT BE LIKE THEIR ANCESTORS—stubborn, rebellious, and unfaithful, REFUSING TO GIVE THEIR HEARTS TO GOD."
Psalm 78:5-8 (NLT)
• Take note of these:
a. Through the knowledge of God's Word, you get to know about God, whilst through the practice of what you know you get to know God firsthand—how He thinks, what He wants, and what He does not want.
b. Through the knowledge of the Word, the Bible, you get to know how to walk with God—how to talk or communicate with Him and present your needs before Him.
c. Through the knowledge of God's Word, the Bible, you had an encounter with Him. He reveals Himself to you through His Word, the Bible.
• When you become a believer in Christ Jesus, you are to be part of the salvation of others (2 Corinthians 5:18-20).
- The first and foremost assignment; ministry or responsibility given to every believer in Christ Jesus is the reconciling of others to God (2 Corinthians 5:18-20). You are saved to serve (Ephesians 2:10).
- The Israelites were commanded to teach their children the Word of God, the Scripture, that the new generation might set their hope anew on God (Psalm 78:5,6). Remembering His glorious miracles and obeying His commands (Psalm 78:7).
- The same is applicable to the contemporary Christians or believers, they have the responsibility to teach others—their homes, friends, and acquaintances—the Word of God.
- Though this would primarily be done through their character, the way they live and practice their faith before others who are watching them—neighbours, coworkers, extended family members, friends, and acquaintances.
- Who you are speaks more of you and your believe or faith than what you say or tell others with your mouth. People want to see the practicality or praticalness of what you want to tell them in your life before they could give you a listening hear—before they would allow you to sell your faith or believe to them (2 Corinthians 3:2,3).
• You must not fail nor let God down in this glorious assignment or the responsibility given to you (2 Corinthians 5:18-20).
- Your children, friends, neighbors, and as many who might come your way, are the people whom God wants you to share His Word with.
- When you share or teach the Word of God, either through your character, attitudes and behaviors or manners of life: "THEN THEY [the people you shared the Word with] WILL NOT BE LIKE THEIR ANCESTORS—STUBBORN, REBELLIOUS, AND UNFAITHFUL, REFUSING TO GIVE THEIR HEARTS TO GOD" (Psalm 78:8 NLT).
- When you did it, you would have succeeded in rescuing them from the claws of the enemy, the devil and his cohorts.
- God wants the knowledge of His Word to go from one generation to another generation. Thus, what you know should not end with you, It should be taught to others:
3 THAT IS GOOD. IT PLEASES GOD OUR SAVIOUR. 4 HE WANTS EVERYONE TO BE SAVED. HE WANTS THEM TO COME TO KNOW THE TRUTH" (1 Timothy 2:3–4 — New International Reader’s Version).
• You will not fail in this glorious assignment in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
- Should there be any sickness or ailment in your body, I declare your healing and deliverance now, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
- The affliction which you are delivered from will never rise again in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Peace!
STEPS TO SALVATION
• Take notice of this:
IF you are yet to take the step of salvation, that is, yet to be born-again, do it now, tomorrow might be too late (2 Corinthians 6:1,2; Hebrews 3:7,8,15).
a. Acknowledge that you are a sinner and confess your Sins (1 John 1:9); And ask Jesus Christ to come into your life (Revelation 3:20).
b. Confess that you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord, and that you confess it with your mouth, Thus, you accept Him As your Lord and Saviour (Romans 10:9,10).
c. As you took the steps A and B your name is written in the Book of Life (Philippians 4:3; Revelation 3:8).
- If you took the steps As highlighted above, congratulations, It means you are saved—born-again. Join a Word based church in your area and Town or city, and be part of whatever they are doing there. Peace!
