UNDERSTANDING MINISTRY LEADERSHIP 2
7 DON'T have anything to do with godless myths that old women like to tell. RATHER, TRAIN YOURSELF TO LIVE A GODLY LIFE.
8 TRAINING THE BODY HELPS A LITTLE, BUT GODLY LIVING HELPS IN EVERY WAY. GODLY LIVING HAS THE PROMISE OF LIFE NOW AND IN THE WORLD TO COME."
1 Timothy 4:7,8 (GOD’S WORD Translation)
II. Application of the Word of God that you know or have acquired (James 1:22-25).
- God does not bless the hearers of the Word but the doers of it (Romans 2:13; Matthew 7:21-28; Luke 6:47-49; James 1:22,23).
- God would not be able to work much in your life, in the affairs that pertains to your life, both your private life and the ministry, If you are not practically living by His written Word—the principles found in the Bible.
- This is one of the first and basic tests which God would use in deciding whether He should go further in His relationship and communion with you, and fulfilling what He had purposed or intended to use you for or do through your life.
- Every truth you know would be challenged or proved by the devil. When you wanted to practice the truth you know, the devil would be there to stand against it, to prove it wrong, but you have to take your ground.
- Problems and challenges brought your way by the devil are the practical training to prove the authenticity and the efficaciousness of the Word of God that you know and have acquired over a period of time:
a. to establish the existence, truth, or validity of the Word which you claimed to know.
b. to demonstrate to the devil, as you posed of having the quality or worth of a believer—a genuine child of God.
c. to prove to the devil; the truth, validity, or genuineness of the potency or efficacy of the Word of God you are having on the inside of you (Ephesians 3:10). - How you handle the problems of life shows the level of your maturity in the knowledge of the Word of God—the Bible. Challenges of life are the test of your maturity in God, and It is known or proven through how you handle the problems or challenges.
- If you are yet matured, you are not qualified to lead, until you are able to skillfully handle through the Word of God the challenges permitted to come your way and that of others around you.
Except you would be a blind leader of the blinds: " . . . IF THE BLIND LEADS THE BLIND, BOTH WILL FALL INTO A DITCH" (Matthew 15:14 NKJV).
• You can only prove to God that you are competent for the assigned work or the ministry work through the ways you handle the the challenges permitted to come your way.
- You equally prove to the devil that you know your right or place through the application of the Word of God in pressing home your victory gotten through the Word of God in Christ Jesus.
- Stop dodging challenges, they are for your lifting. Face that problem and conquer, overcome. Whatever you needed to overcome with, is already given to you through the Word of God.
• The triumphant believer.
- Jesus has made you triumph through His victory over the devil and his cohorts on the cross at Calvary and His resurrection (Colossians 2:15).
- All you need is to press home your victory and appropriate the blessings that belong to you through your redemption.
- The devil, his cohorts, and his human agents know that you are a triumphant believer, but he is a bully, he would want to intimidate you; to cause you to doubt your victory and the triumph you had gotten through Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 2:14).
- If you can take your stand in prayer and fasting and the Word of God and resist him, the devil, he will surely flee (1 Peter 5:9). All the devil wanted to know and be sure of is, whether you know your right or not! It is therefore the main reason why challenges are constantly brought your way from him—satan.
- If you failed in handling challenges, What story of testimonies would you have to share with those who would gather, those who would be under your leadership, to learn, from your Christian journey and experience?
- There is no glory without a story! You must have a story to tell, a scar to show, to those who would come to hear your Teachings—messages. The story is meant to buttress the authenticity of the Word of God you know, and be the proof that you are truly called of God to lead.
- There is no general in the army of God that has no scars to show. Thus, you should brace up and be brave and stop kidding!
• You will not fail in your assignment in Jesus' name.
- Should there be any ailment in your body, I declare your healing now in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
- The hold is completely broken and will never resurface again in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Peace!
