RE: Apply for one job a day

in #job7 years ago

I would hope there's something out there for someone of your experience. There are some big technology companies out west of London. It's hard to know what skills to work on as there's so much variety these days. Web and data science seem to be big ones.

Thanks Steve, I'm not worried at present - gardening leave will keep me going into the new year.
Plus, I did just find my application for the day, so I can now do interesting things like post train pictures!
But the whole question of what to do when I grow up (which I've avoided for 50 years now) is back and I don't have an answer.
I have established that running a sound desk for up-and-coming folk and metal bands does not bring in enough to pay for cat food ;-)

I've not been unemployed for a long time as I found my last couple of jobs whilst still working. Some aspects of the search have changed as it's mostly online now and I expect recruiters can get loads of speculative applications. It probably still helps to have good connections.

I'd love to make a living from music, maybe teaching guitar, but it won't play the bills. Steem isn't likely to do that either for a while yet. My best hope is for an early retirement when I can afford it.
