Let's try this out!

Ok, so I was convinced by a friend who is really blown away by Steemit to join up and see what it is all about. I'm really not sure what I can contribute so I guess I will just make this a running blog of some description.

I'm a mature-aged student who has just started my psychology degree. I'm 3 weeks in and already loving it. The downside is that because I work full time, I can only study part-time. So what would take the average student 4 years to complete, is going to take me eight.

Eight years is a long time to wait for a qualification, a qualification that won't actually result in me becoming a psychologist, not straight away at least. The bit they don't tell you is that in order to become a registered psych here in Australia, is that once you finish your degree you have MORE study to do. You either do a 2 year supervised placement, your masters and a 1 year supervised placement or your PHD. I am essentially looking down the barrel of a minimum 10 year study period. And while I understand why it is done that way, I'm just hoping that I can hold out for the next decade.

Oh God, a decade. A decade of books and tutors and tests, oh my! I've only been interested in doing this for 15 years or so. Take that into account and I will become registered a whopping 25 YEARS after I first became interested in psychology. That will teach me for fucking around straight out of high school. But I shouldn't complain, I had some great times during what will forever be known as my 'fuckery period'. And at least now I have a few years of life experience under my belt that will hopefully help me along this little journey.

Well, that's me for now. I have an assignment due on Friday and it ain't gonna do itself (unfortunately!).
